Things I wish I knew when I were a freshmen at Rutgers University.

orientation.

Orientation was a little different when I was a freshmen. Rather than a weekend in the summer, we just came a few days early. Regardless, orientation is a great opportunity to meet new people. Don’t have the mindset that orientation is ruining a weekend of your summer. It will actually make your first few weeks much easier.

What we did at my orientation:

  • Ice breaker games - my dorm stood in a big circle and learned fun facts about each other.
  • Presentations - we watched a few skits and watched a few presentations.
  • I think we also took a tour of campus or something like that

It’s kind of hard to remember, but orientation is nothing to be afraid of. It was a lot of fun, and I actually ended up meeting one of my best friends during an ice breaker.

Keep an open mind, and you will be making friends in no time.

Slacking

Sorry I’m slacking on this! I have summer classes, 2 jobs.. you know, mad shit to do.

So while I’m watching my summer pass by, I hope all you new comers out there are preparing yourselves (mainly your livers) for a great year. :)

I’ll be back with some more tips soon.
